Colorful psychedelic painting of a large ocean wave near a rocky shoreline with trees, and five people holding surfboards on the grassy bank, some sitting and some standing.

The Art of Surfing
by Steven Valiere

Aloha

Welcome to The Art of Surfing, by Steven Valiere. A barefoot paradise where the waves are always pumping, the sun shines bright and the surfers are having the time of their lives.

Born in North Dakota in the 1950’s, Steven found his way to Hawai’i when he was 18. After a lifetime of global surf travels, adventures, raising a family, more surfing, and plenty painting, Steven now lives in the north of Auckland, New Zealand, with his partner Julie.

Steve paints every day, and has recently started writing his auto-biography. He regularly sends batches of different sized paintings to the Aloha Images Gallery on Kaua’i, Hawai’i, where they can be viewed and purchased. He is also open to painting commissions which can be sent anywhere in the world.

“After 40 or 50 years on earth, most any good surfer's biography could be made into a damn good underground flick, but Valiere's is close to archetypical; its moments are metaphor”
